Artist's Description

One morningI headed to the dunes shortly after sunrise. It was about a mile walk across the open desert to get to there. I had no plan except that I hoped to find shadows and shapes to photograph. To my surprise, while I was still a half mile away, I noticed the sun highlighting select ridges. I put on my 100-400mm lens and starting composing! I love the way the lines of the ridges come together.

About Lawrence Pallant

Lawrence Pallant

I love the outdoors and am inspired by the beauty in nature. I have been hiking and exploring since the age of ten when my family moved to a home near thousands of acres of woodlands in Connecticut. At age 14, I went on my first 3-day backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail in Vermont. What a great experience. It was just two kids. My friend's father dropped us off at the trailhead and picked us up three days later. I have been backpacking ever since. I got a Canon AE1 camera when I was still in high school and I loved taking pictures of anything of interest to me. Flowers, friends and outdoors places while backpacking were the main things I photographed back then. People often told me they enjoyed my images, but I never went too far...
